In the recent past, researchers and engineers have achieved computer vision breakthroughs — that perform better than humans — using deep learning. Whether it is object recognition, self-driving technology, or medical imaging, deep learning has delivered remarkable results.
However, deep learning requires relatively larger data sets for model training, and the model’s accuracy can depend on the quality of the data. Also, deep learning model training is costly and needs multiple iterations. Such a process wouldn’t be viable for simpler computer vision tasks.
Suppose, in a production line, the system needs to differentiate objects that are red and blue. In this case, employing traditional computer vision techniques would be simpler and easier.

As CEO, Adhesh guides the direction and strategic decisions for Tessellate Imaging. He is responsible for the continuous evolution of Tessellate Imaging’s AI and machine learning offering, ensuring a clear vision into the future as well as robust delivery capabilities. Adhesh received a B.E.(Hons.) from BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus in Electrical and Electronics.
Akash is a tech wiz, passionate about solving real-world problems with artificial intelligence and machine vision. He’s worked on building novel systems to detect & classify glioma cancer and a real-time stat generation camera solution for basketball players. He was also part of the team that built India’s first panoramic camera, where he acted as the Machine Learning Lead. Akash earned his B.E. (Hons.) degree in Electronics and Instrumentation from BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus.
