Inside Sales Engineer

Position Overview

The Inside Sales Engineer is an entry-level role. Ideally meant for freshers or people with less than one year of work experience. He/she is responsible for achieving conversion targets and assigned account objectives. ISE is expected to represent the entire range of company products and services to prospective customers and reports to the Inside Sales Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Extensive interaction with prospective customers, partners and team via phone and email. This includes cold calling.
  • Assist field sales team in executing and achieving their territory and market business plans.
  • Travel as needed with Field Sales Team to support presentation and seminars/exhibition/trade show activities (limited).
  • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application.
  • Attain targeted sales acquisition goals and performance as per the KRAs.
  • Pro-actively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Focuses on delivering a positive customer experience according to E2E standards.

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

  • Achieves assigned conversion targets.
  • Qualitative parameters as per targets
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards (basis customer feedback).

Career Path

ISEs excelling in their performance can seek cross-functional experience or move into a leadership role in the same vertical. An ISE is expected to spend a minimum of 18 months in his current role.


  • BE/B. Tech/BCA/MCA/M.Tech.
  • Work experience – fresh or less than one-year work exp.
  • Proficiency with CRM/Database tools will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and Interpersonal skills.
